Macronix International currently has two to three months worth of wafer inventory, which is sufficient enough to fulfill orders over the short term, according to company chairman and CEO Miin Wu.
Macronix sources materials mainly from Sumco, LG Siltron and Siltronic, said Wu. The company does not see any impact caused by the massive earthquake in Japan on its supply chain, Wu indicated.
Macronix noted that it expects to receive large and long-term orders for NOR chips in April and May. The company's NOR flash business, in terms of sales and shipments, will continue expanding in 2011 while those generated from its ROM segment will decline.
Orders from Nintendo reportedly accounted for about 28% of Macronix' total revenues in 2010.
