Wistron is expected to see its notebook shipments increase 6-9% sequentially in the third quarter of 2016, from 4.6 million units shipped a quarter earlier, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

The company's notebook shipments are expected to rise each month in the third quarter, repeating a pattern seen in the previous quarter, said the report, noting that Wistron shipped 1.2 million notebooks in April and then ramped up shipments to 1.5 million in May and 1.9 million in June.

Wistron will see its earnings prospects further improve in the second half of 2016 as well as in 2017, buoyed by iPhone orders from Apple, said the report.

The company's stock price stayed flat at NT$24.90 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) during the July 20 session.
