Sharp is reportedly engaged in the development of a new smartphone utilizing MediaTek's 10-core Helio X20 chip (dubbed MT6797).
A new Sharp smartphone carrying a model number of FS8002 has been spotted on benchmarking site GFXBench, according to the Chinese-language website cnYES.com. The device could be designed and developed jointly with Foxconn Electronics, targeting Taiwan and other non-Japan markets.
The Sharp FS8002, listed on GFXBench, will be powered by MediaTek's MT6797 Helio X20 deca-core CPU alongside with the ARM Mali-T880 GPU. The device will also feature a 4.6- or 5.2-inch full HD (1920x1080p) display, and run the Android 6.0 OS.
Sharp's latest flagship smartphone, the Aquos P1, has recently been introduced to the Taiwan market. The device features a 5.3-inch IGZO display and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 CPU, and is equipped with a 22.6-megapixel main camera. |
