Taiwan-based ODMs/OEMs shipped 12.06 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2016, slipping 13.5% on quarter and 43.5% on year, according to Digitimes Research.
Compal Electronics' shipments to China-based vendor LeEco (renamed from LeTV) in the second quarter drastically dropped sequentially, while Arima Communications' shipments to Asustek Computer and LG Electronics significantly increased, Digitimes Research indicated.
As a result, Arima shipped 2.54 million smartphones in the second quarter, followed by Compal with 2.2 million units and Foxconn Group (including FIH Mobile) with 1.0 million units.
Among Taiwan-based vendors, Asustek shipped 3.3 million smartphones and HTC 3.0 million units. |
