Taiwan-based makers shipped 19.629 million LCD monitors in the second quarter of 2016, increasing 1.2% on quarter but decreasing 4.1% on year, with the shipment volume accounting for 63.4% of the global total, according to Digitimes Research.

The shipment value reached US$2.103 billion, growing 0.6% on quarter but falling 11.6% on year.

Of the shipments, 15- to 17-inch models accounted for 5.1%, 18- to 19.5-inch 20.6%, 20- to 21.x-inch 31.0%, 22- to 26-inch 37.0%, 27-inch and above 6.3%, Digitimes Research indicated.

Among the makers, TPV Technology accounted for 52.4% of the shipments, followed by Qisda (23.3%), Foxconn Electronics (15.3%) and Wistron (8.7%).

Global LCD monitor shipments in 2016 are estimated at 124.415 million units, slipping 0.3% on year, and Taiwan-based makers will ship 79.389 million units, dropping 2.4%.
