Preorders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 have begun in Europe, but Samsung is intentionally limiting stock due to "unprecedented" demand for the phone. It wants to make sure there are enough Note 7 units available for a smooth retail launch on September 2.
Conor Pierce, Samsung's VP of IT/mobile in UK & Ireland, says the Note 7 is likely to surpass the company's original sales forecasts. That is based on the existing "market reaction" and the "extremely positive feedback" Samsung has received from its retail and carrier partners.
Some special offers are available from sellers. Carphone Warehouse, for example, is selling the Note 7 for £699 SIM-free and if you get it with a new contract or upgrade, you'll receive a free Gear VR. Preordering from Carphone Warehouse means you will receive the phone three days early.
Vodafone is also providing a free Gear VR with Note 7 preorders. Customers who place a preorder before August 28 will receive their unit on August 30.
