Samsung will likely begin selling its own refurbished smartphones next year, reports Reuters. It will sell phones returned to the company through a one-year upgrade program. One of its main competitors, Apple, already sells many refurbished devices, allowing consumers to spend less on an upgrade.
Like Apple, Samsung's top-tier smartphones are quite expensive and could be out of reach for a lot of consumers. Selling refurbished units will address that issue to some degree.
Samsung is still developing its refurbished phone sales program and may be done figuring out the details by early 2017. |
