We have already seen the inside of iPhone 7 Plus, but the guys at iFixit are just number one when it comes to teardowns. As the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus start hitting the stores, iFixit have wasted no time tearing them down so you could see what is inside them.
Overall, they gave the same repairability scores to both handsets, at 7 out of 10, which is the same as predecessors. Both teardowns can be seen here (iPhone 7) and here (iPhone 7 Plus).
Another report by IHS Markit has revealed the components cost of the 32 GB iPhone 7 model. According to them, the most expensive component is display, which costs $43, followed by the Intel modem and other baseband chips that cost $33.90. The A10 Fusion chipset is said to be priced at $26.90, while the battery costs only $2.5. These prices might not be 100% accurate, but at least we know how much they cost. |
