If you own a Surface Pro 3, then you have definitely experienced the battery charging issue, which has become very common with the latest software update. Owners of the Surface Pro 3 with an integrated LG power pack can't charge their devices after the August patch.

The August firmware update was released to fix the battery charging issues with the Simplo battery, but the update unfortunately caused new problems with the more common battery found in the Surface Pro 3, the one from LGC.

The issue prevents owners from using the device while not connected to a power outlet, since they can't charge the battery. Microsoft has yet to issue an official statement, but a moderator on its Community forum confirmed that the company is aware of the problem, and is probably working on resolving the issue as we speak.
