During an event in China, MediaTek has officially introduced two new chipsets for mobile devices, including the flagship Helio X30 and Helio P25, the upgraded version of the Helio P20. Both chipsets are expected to arrive in the first half of the next year.

The Helio P25 uses the same 16nm TSMC process as its predecessor, but is clocked slightly faster. The rest of the specifications are the same. As for the flagship Helio X30, the chipset is built using the 10nm TSMC process and comes with noticeable upgrades under the hood.

Instead of two Cortex-A72 cores, the new chip comes with two ARM Cortex-A73 cores clocked at impressive 2.8 GHz. Clocks of the Cortex-A53 cores have also been increased, while the low-power Cortex-A35 cores have replaced the low-power Cortex-A53 cores from the Helio X20.

The company says that the Helio X30 comes with 53% improved power savings and 43% better performance than the Helio X20. The rest of the specs include up to 8 GB LPDDR4 RAM and up to 28-megapixel dual ISPs.
