Google's next-generation smartwatch platform was expected to launch by the end of the year, but unfortunately, that isn't going to happen. The company has now announced that it had to delay the launch of the Android Wear 2.0 to sometime in early 2017.

The real reason behind the delay is unknown, but according to Google, they need more time to fine tune the software via feedback from developers. Since the update is now delayed, the company will also release another preview build before the end of the year, which means more features.
