The Chinese company that is also known as new Apple has finally taken off the wraps of the flagship Mi Note 2 phablet. With Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, the timing couldn't be better and most Note 7 owners will probably switch to the new Xiaomi phablet.

Most of the rumours were correct, but there are some things that aren't as they were reported a few weeks ago. First off, the Mi Note 2 features metal unibody with dual-curved design on both the front and the back that houses 5.7-inch OLED panel with Full HD resolution. It has 77.2% screen to body ratio, which is quite impressive.

Under the hood, we can find impressive specs such as Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 821 SoC with a max clock speed of 2.35 GHz, up to 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and as much as 128 GB of UFS 2.0 storage. The more affordable model comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

Further, the phone has a single 22.56-megapixel rear camera rather than dual camera system as the rumors suggested. The rear camera uses Sony IMX218 Exmor sensor with a f/2.0 lens with EIS digital stabilization 4K video recording.

The front camera uses an 8-megapixel Sony IMX268 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and autofocus.

As rumoured, the phablet final offers global LTE support across 6 network types and a total of 37 bands. Other than that, we can find a high-quality 24-bit/192kHz DAC, a 4,070 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, NFC and high-precision GPS.

Price-wise, the base model with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage costs CNY 2,799 or around $420. The top model will be sold in its home market as well as around the globe. The former will be priced at CNY 3,299 ($490), while the global variant will cost CNY 3,499 ($520), and will support Google Play Services.
