At a dedicated event today in Germany, Huawei officially unveiled its flagship phablet. The Mate 9 isn't really well-kept secret as we knew almost everything about it thanks to numerous rumours and leaks, but still there are some things we haven't heard about.
The company plans to release the Mate 9 phablet first in China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates, while more markets will join soon after. It will be available in six colors, including Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown, Ceramic White, and Black, priced at €699.

As for the technical specs, the Mate 9 features a metal unibody that houses a 5.9-inch 1080p 2.5D display and a 4,000 mAh battery, which supports Super Charge technology that promises full charge in 20 minutes. It is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC with IntelliSense i6 sensor hub, only 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
The dual rear camera setup has a second generation Leica dual-lens camera with 12-megapixel RGB sensor, 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and Hybrid Zoom, featuring 2x magnification, dual-tone LED flash, laser auto focus, optical image stabilization (OIS) and uses Huawei's own ISP. There is also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a rear fingerprint scanner, hybrid dual SIM slot and 4G LTE with VoLTE support.
