A handset design that involves a smartphone folding in half and featuring a secondary display was created and patented by Samsung. The company has filed a patent for the unique design with the Korean Intellectual Property Office. As per the patent, the handset can fold like a flip phone and its second display will activate when it's folded.

Previous reports have indicated Samsung is working on bendable phone displays, though those don't necessarily translate to it releasing a folding handset.

As with any patent, the existence of this design only means Samsung has put a little effort into thinking about the possibility.
