Samsung is looking for ways in which the Note 7 can be something other than a complete failure. One option the company has considered is selling refurbished units that never caught fire, reports The Investor. Sales of those phones could begin sometime in 2017.
Most of the company's focus will reportedly be on selling the units in emerging markets, such as India. Samsung has yet to decide if it'll move forward with the refurbished phone plan.
The company still hasn't conclusively located the source of the Note 7's problem. It would presumably need to fully understand the issue before putting any units back on the market. |
