MediaTek's chipset are mostly used in entry-level or mid-range smartphones, as Qualcomm is untouchable on the high-end market. However, the company is not giving up and is working hard on new high-end chipsets that will provide overall better performance.

Today, the company has announced two new high-end chipsets, the Helio X23 and Helio X27. The chipsets are an upgrade to Helio X20 and Helio X25 processors, and provide 20% overall better performance, camera quality and power consumption compared to its predecessors.

The company also added that both models now include MiraVision EnergySmart Screen power-saving technology that effectively modifies the smart display parameters for up to a 25% reduction in display power consumption.

The upgraded MediaTek Imagiq image signal-processing chip now fully support dual camera photography.

There is no word on availability, but that mostly depends on smartphone manufacturers.
