HMD has recently closed Nokia brand and patents deal with Microsoft and is expected to launch new Nokia-branded smartphones in 2017. Shortly after the announcement, a rumour about Google being closely involved with the new Nokia phones has emerged online.

Apparently Google had plenty of input for the new devices, but details on what was said are private. HMD Global is expected to launch a slew of handsets running Google's mobile operating system Android, ranging from high to mid-range during the first half of 2017. Some of these devices are going to be unveiled during the MWC 2017, and the rest during 2017.
