Apple's wearable isn't doing too well compared to last year, which fits with large sections of the wearable market. IDC reports the Apple Watch's sales were down 71% year-on-year during the third quarter. There were 1.1 million sales in that period.
Less advanced fitness trackers, like those from Fitbit, have been more widely adopted and continue to perform better in the market.
The decline in Watch sales is particularly notable given the third quarter included the launch of the Apple Watch Series 2. Though, we'll need to see fourth quarter estimates before fully understanding the impact of that update.
Apple itself hasn't released sales figures for the product. |
