November was the best month on record for consumer Microsoft Surface sales and that accomplishment may partly be attached to what Microsoft calls the "disappointment of the new MacBook Pro." Along with it being a record-breaking month for overall sales, "more people are switching from Macs to Surface than ever before."
It was the best month for MacBook trade-ins through Microsoft and Brian Hall, CVP of Microsoft Devices Marketing, says it "seems like a new review recommending Surface over MacBook comes out daily."
Actual sales information wasn't provided by Microsoft, so we only know November was an impressive month relative to prior months. Without sales data it's also unclear how well each member of the Surface family performed.
Microsoft's claim regarding the MacBook Pro doesn't quite fit with what Apple has said about the device. Apple's online store received more orders for the MacBook Pro after its launch than for any other "pro notebook." |
