Gionee's M series of smartphones has just got another member as the company has announced the M2017 model. The premium handset might not have high-end specs, but it is extremely expensive. The Gold and Black models are priced at 6,999 yuan ($999), while the exclusive version with Italian custom alligator leather back costs whopping 16,999 yuan ($2,500) and is available for pre-order in China.

The main highlight of the phone is a 7,000 mAh polymer lithium-ion battery, which has its own intelligent power management system. Paired with low power consumption display, the phone promises up to 25 hours of continuous video playback and 915.42 hours of standby. It also supports 24W Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 with dual fast charging chip.
