Apple has been rumoured for a while to switch to AMOLED displays, but so far that didn't happen. The latest reports suggest that three new iPhones will arrive in 2017, with a 4.7-, 5.5- and 5.8-inch displays. While the first two models will keep the same TFT-LCD displays, the 5.8-inch version will have Samsung's AMOLED panel.
Reportedly Samsung will be an exclusive supplier of AMOLED panels for the new iPhone, and the South Korean company is expected to supply around 20 million AMOLED panels per month. All three models are rumoured to arrive in the second half of the year. |
