A day after Qualcomm signed patent license agreement with Meizu, the company did the same with another Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Gionee. The new 3G and 4G patent license agreement grant Gionee to develop, manufacture and sell 3G WCDMA , CDMA2000 and 4G LTE complete devices for use in China. The license also includes 3-mode GSM, TD-SCDMA and LTE-TDD bands.
The exact details of the agreement are unknown, but Gionee will make payment in royalties for use of these patents. Qualcomm also revealed that similar agreement is made with the top 10 smartphone makers in China, including Oppo, Vivo, Lenovo, Coolpad and more. |
