Xiaomi Technology has decided to not announce the sales figures for smartphones it shipped in 2016 as the company is under a transition period, according to a blog post on the Chinese-language TechCrunch China.
Xiaomi shipped a high of 18.7 million smartphones in 2013, and its shipments reached 61 million units in 2014 and 70 million units in 2015.
However, Xiaomi did reveal that it generated combined revenues of over US$1 billion in the India market in 2016, and that its online service income doubled to US$1 billion in 2016, according to company CEO Lei Jun.
Meanwhile, the GMV (gross merchandise value) of the three exclusive shops operated by Xiaomi generated combined revenues of CNY100 million (US$14.58 million) in 2016. Xiaomi plans to open as many as 1,000 exclusive shops in China in the next three years.
Xiaomi also aims to garner total revenues of over CNY100 billion in 2017, Lei said. |
