Canada's BlackBerry has entered into an "exclusive, long-term" deal with India's Optiemus Infracom to have the company design and manufacture phones running BlackBerry's software. The deal helps ensure BlackBerry handsets will continue to exist and will allow BlackBerry to nearly exclusively focus on software and services.

Optiemus will cover India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh. BlackBerry has also signed deals with Indonesia's PT BB Merah Putih and TCL, which will cover all other markets.

India has been a strong market for BlackBerry and we'll learn more about the BlackBerry phones it'll receive in the coming months.
