As promised, a Huawei subsidiary has just announced a new smartphone in China. The new high-end Honor V9 handset is available in three versions, starting at $380 all the way up to $510. It will be available in China on February 28, but it is unlikely that the phone will launch globally, at least not under that name. Rumours say that the phone will be available globally as Honor 8 Pro.

Honor V9 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top, Huawei Kirin 960 with an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.4 GHz, 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, a 4,000 mAh battery, dual 12 MP camera setup on the back, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with EMUI 5.0 on top.
