Xiaomi wants to cut down its cost by introducing its in-house chipset called Pinecone. Two variants of the Pinecone chipsets are expected to be unveiled on February 28 and although we are a few days away from the official launch, we don't know much about them.
At least we didn't until today, as new leaked information details the chipsets. Pinecone V970 will be the more powerful out of the two, and will be built by Samsung on the 10nm process. It packs four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores, paired with the next-generation Mali-G71 MP12.
The Pinecone V670 chipset will be made using older 28nm process and will feature eight Cortex-A53 cores and Mali-T860 MP2 GPU.
One of the chipsets should make official debut with the Xiaomi Mi 5c. |
