Silicon Power Computer & Communications, a Taiwan-based memory moduel firm, has said that it is stepping up efforts expanding its domestic business in 2011.
Silicon Power recently opened its new plant in Xizhi, a district in New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. New capacity has been created to meet the rising sales generated from its operation in Taiwan, which contributes about 10% of revenues, the company said.
Silicon Power noted that it has been cultivating overseas markets. Geographically, Europe (including Russia) accounts for 42% of company revenues at present followed by Asia (including India and the Middle East) with 26% and Japan 15%.
Silicon Power develops and manufactures NAND flash memory devices, DRAM modules, solid-state drives (SSD) and external hard drives. NAND-related products currently account for about 70% of company revenues.
