We have to agree that both Google and HTC did a very good job on Pixel and Pixel XL handsets, but there is still a lot of room for improvements. The Pixel 2 is already in the works and is reportedly build by HTC, but the company is already trying to land themselves a contract for 2018's Pixel 3, at least according to a report from DigiTimes.

The report also claims that other companies are also interested in making the third-generation Pixel handset, including LG, TCL and Coolpad. It is unlikely that Coolpad will get the contract, but LG and TCL and experienced enough with some great devices in their portfolios to land the contract. The same report says that LG will most likely win the contract for 2018's Pixel handsets, but they did not state why.
