Samsung has been ordered to pay Huawei $11.6 million for violating its patents. A Chinese court ruled in favor of Huawei, a local company, in the patent infringement case. This is the first time it has won in an IP case against Samsung.
Huawei claimed in its May 2016 lawsuits that Samsung was engaging in patent infringement with over 20 Galaxy smartphone and tablet models. Samsung was sued for the "unlicensed use of 4G cellular communications technology, operating systems and user interface software."
Samsung says it's evaluating how it'll respond. |
