Qualcomm has filed a counter lawsuit against Apple claiming its iPhone 7 chips were intentionally limited to keep them from performing better than Intel's. The lawsuit says Apple "falsely claimed" that Qualcomm and Intel iPhones weren't different when asked about possible performance differences.

Apple allegedly kept Qualcomm from revealing "the extent to which iPhones with Qualcomm's chipsets outperformed iPhones with Intel's chipsets."

The lawsuit contains other claims against Apple, including that it breached and mischaracterized various agreements with Qualcomm.

Qualcomm is looking for damages from Apple for "reneging on its promises in several agreements."

This lawsuit follows Apple's litigation against Qualcomm, which began in January 2017.
