Qualcomm is currently is facing a lawsuit in the US because of the alleged anti-competitive behavior. The company doesn't agree with the lawsuit and has requested that the court dismisses it. However, two more companies have now backed up Federal Trade Commission's lawsuit.
Intel and Samsung filed briefs supporting the FTC lawsuit, saying Qualcomm is trying to monopolize by using its dominant position in the mobile processor. The company is reportedly using a "no license-no chips" strategy, in which companies that use their rivals products are forced to pay a "tax."
Samsung has once again said that Qualcomm is the main reason because its Exynos chipsets are not available to other companies. More will be revealed on June 15, when the FTC trial's hearing happens. |
