Exynos chipset lineup has some very impressive models, but Qualcomm blocked Samsung from selling its Exynos chipsets to other smartphone makers, like LG, Huawei or Xiaomi. Despite that, Samsung is still developing new Exynos, which is used in most of the company's mobile devices.

According to a word from China, Exynos 7872 is the upcoming mid-range chipset with a hexa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores and two Cortex-A73 cores, paired with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The chipset will be built using Samsung's 14nm LPP (Low Power Plus) technology.

Thanks to all improvements, the new chipset has 70% better CPU performance compared to the predecessor, while being 30% more energy efficient. The Exynos 7872 should be released in October and will probably find its way into the Galaxy A or Samsung Galaxy C series.
