The joint venture of Intel Corp. and Micron Technologies Inc. is expanding its operations in Lehi, Utah. IM Flash Technologies LLC will be adding 200 jobs starting 2012, adding to the 1400 staff members it currently employs. This is according to a statement released by Utah's Governor and the state's economic development office.
During the last five years, the company has paid out more than $532 million in wages and expects to pay an additional $1.4 billion in new state wages the next 10 years, according to the statement.
Utah expects the fab expansion to generate more than $153 million in new tax revenue over 10 years, according to the statement. Last year, electronics accounted for nearly $2 billion—mostly from IM Flash—of Utah's $13.6 billion in exports. |
