Rexchip Electronics on June 30 announced it has sold a set of immersion lithography equipment with leaseback options. The company will collect NT$1 billion (US$34.8 billion) from the sale, which is expected to grow its cash level.
Rexchip is accelerating the shift to 30nm-class process production in order to further lower costs. Capacity will climb to 88,000 12-inch wafers a month when the technology transition is complete.
Rexchip is a production subsidiary of Japan's Elpida Memory.
