Latest reports suggest that Qualcomm will announce its next-generation flagship chipset much earlier than before. Unlike Snapdragon 835, its successor is expected to be announced on December 4, during the Snapdragon Technology Summit on Maoyi Island, Hawaii.
Just like with its predecessor, the initial supply of Snapdragon 845 chips will be exclusive to Samsung and Galaxy S9 lineup.
New details suggest that the chipset will have four Cortex-A75 and four Cortex-A53 cores that will offer a 25% performance improvement over the Snapdragon 835. The GPU will be Adreno 630 and the chipset will also include X20 modem. It is still not confirmed, but Qualcomm will use either 10nm LPE (Low Power Early) or Samsung's LPP (Low Power Plus) technology. |
