The NAND flash market saw price trends stabilize this week (Aug 1-5) in the spot market while DDR3 continued to see price drops on weak demand.
As it is only the beginning of the month, most traders are still holding a wait-and-see attitude in the spot market. The NAND flash market remained stable. Meanwhile, rumors saying that Apple will release its next generation of iPhone next month have helped stabilize overall NAND flash prices this week.
As of the noon session of August 5, 32Gb MLC was priced at US$3.61 without any price changes compared to last week. 32Gb TLC also remained flat with prices pegged at US$3.32, the research firm said.
While leading suppliers currently have no plans to cut supply, the overall DRAM spot market saw a sluggish price trend this week with DDR3 continuing to see worsening quotes.
As of the noon session of August 5, spot prices of branded 2Gb DDR3 were at US$1.09, representing a 4% intra-week drop while spot pricing for white-branded DDR3 also fell 5% to US$0.86.
