Memory module makers Transcend Information and Adata Technology both have posted sequential gains in revenues for July and are upbeat about their third-quarter revenue outlooks, according to the companies.
Transcend's July revenues reached NT$2.52 billion (US$86.82 million), up 6.3% on month but down 5.6% on year. NAND flash products accounted for NT$1.71 billion, or 65.6%, of total revenues, followed by DRAM devices with NT$370 million or 14.75%. Strategic products made up NT$435 million or 17.23%, the company noted.
Transcend expects its revenues and profits to swing upward in the third quarter, buoyed by peak-season and back-to-school demand.
Adata posted revenues of NT$2.15 billion for July, up 1% sequentially but down 39.3% on year. DRAM modules contributed 40% to total revenues, while NAND flash products made up the remaining 60%, the company revealed.
Demand in the end market is expected to pick up in September which will help improve the current oversupply situation in the DRAM market, said Adata. |
