Anobit has announced a new embedded flash controller with support for up to 256GB of flash memory, compared to its existing MSP2020 controller with support for 4-128GB.
Anobit said that the new MSP2025 is its first flash controller to support 20nm and sub-20nm NAND flash process nodes, resulting in a significant reduction in cost-per-bit. Supporting up to 256GB of NAND flash, the MSP2025 delivers a 666MB/sec data transfer rate making it the highest performing low-power embedded flash controller on the market today, Anobit claimed.
As with its predecessor, the MSP2025 is also powered by Anobit's MSP (memory signal processing) technology which is comprised of proprietary signal processing algorithms that compensate for physical limitations of the NAND flash, resulting in a dramatic improvement in endurance, performance, time-to-market and cost of flash-based products and systems, the company said.
Anobit also revealed that thus far in 2011, the company has shipped over 20 million embedded flash controllers for smartphones, tablet PCs and personal media players. |
