DRAM spot prices continued dropping this week (October 3-7) due to weak demand and the ongoing holidays in China, while the NAND Flash spot market was quiet with few transactions.
Brokers kept selling their mainstream DRAM products as pessimism prevailed, with weak demand expected to continue, the research firm noted.
As of the noon session of October 7, spot price of a branded 2Gb had dropped 3% to US$1.08 and a DDR3 white-branded 2Gb DDR3 also had fallen by 3% to US$0.9.
For the NAND flash market, with growing supply and lower-than-expected demand, brokers are cautious about the fourth-quarter outlook. Spot price for a 32Gb MLC came to US$3.59 on October 7 while a 64Gb MLC fell to US$5.93. |
