China's electronic information manufacturing sector has reported impressive production figures for the first half of 2024. The output of integrated circuits (ICs), a critical component in the electronics industry, has experienced a substantial YoY increase of 28.9%, reaching a total of 207.1 billion units. This surge in IC production is indicative of the country's ongoing commitment to technological advancement and innovation.

In addition to ICs, other electronic products have also shown growth. Mobile phone production reached 752 million units, a 9.7% YoY increase, with smartphones accounting for 563 million units, an 11.8% YoY rise. The production of microcomputers also saw a modest increase of 1%, totaling 157 million units.

Export-wise, the export delivery value of the large-scale electronic information manufacturing industry grew by 0.4% YoY, a slight decrease of 0.3 percentage points from the January-May period. In June, the export delivery value of the same industry experienced a 1.2% YoY decrease.

According to customs statistics, the export of laptop computers in the first half of the year reached 68.7 million units, a 2.5% YoY increase. Mobile phone exports totaled 366 million units, a 4.9% YoY increase, while the export of integrated circuits stood at 139.3 billion units, a 9.5% YoY increase.

These figures highlight the resilience and growth potential of China's electronic information manufacturing industry, with integrated circuits playing a pivotal role in driving this expansion. The industry's performance in the first half of the year sets a positive tone for the ongoing development and international competitiveness of China's electronics manufacturing sector.
