Apple is anticipated to host its autumn product event on September 10, where it will introduce the iPhone 16 lineup, fully equipped with the A18 series chip to facilitate the new AI capabilities of Apple Intelligence. The latest reports from foreign media suggest that based on the component orders Apple has placed with its suppliers, the high-end models are projected to make up a significant portion of the sales, nearly 70%.

The supply chain reports indicate that LG Innotech is currently the exclusive supplier for the periscope telephoto lens module of the iPhone 16 Pro/Max, with orders from Apple sufficient to meet 70% of the production volume for the entire iPhone 16 series.

The shipment forecast for the iPhone 16 series in the second half of the year is estimated to be 90.1 million units, marking a year-on-year increase of about 10%. The breakdown includes 24.5 million units for the standard model, 5.8 million for the Plus model, 26.6 million for the Pro model, and a staggering 33.2 million for the Pro Max model.

In terms of percentages, the iPhone 16 is expected to represent 27% of shipments, the iPhone 16 Plus only 6%; the iPhone 16 Pro will account for 30%, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will lead with 37%, combining for a total of 67% for the Pro models.

Furthermore, it has been reported that Apple plans to conduct mandatory training sessions for all retail store employees after the iPhone 16 launch, focusing on introducing the Apple Intelligence feature. These sessions are scheduled for mid-to-late September, highlighting Apple's intention to emphasize this feature as a selling point for the iPhone 16. Although the full capabilities of Apple Intelligence are set to be released in October with iOS 18.1, Apple has already begun training its employees, anticipating a significant boost in iPhone 16 sales due to this feature.
