Memory backend service provider Formosa Advanced Technologies (FATC) has grabbed testing orders for onboard DRAM products used in ultrabooks, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report. The orders reportedly were placed by chipmakers including Nanya Technology.
Nanya has been chosen by Acer, Asustek, Dell, HP and Sony to supply DRAM for new and upcoming ultrabook devices, the report said, without citing its source. FATC will provide final test services for the chips welded directly to the system boards, the report indicated.
FATC shares edged up 4% to close at NT$29.45 (US$0.98) on the Taiwan Stock Exchange on October 24.
