According to a report from CFM, the latest flash report on semiconductor manufacturing equipment released by the Japan Semiconductor Equipment Association shows that in August, Japanese chip manufacturing equipment sales, including exports, increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month (the final value for July 2024 was 3,480.92 billion yen), and increased by 22.0% compared to the same period last year (August 2023 was 2,878.21 billion yen), reaching 3,510.58 billion yen (approximately $2.44 billion).

The data shows that since March of this year, Japanese chip manufacturing equipment sales have been growing steadily to reach the highest point of the year in May at 4,009.54 billion yen, then declined in June to the lowest point since March, and began to recover slightly in July.
