Asustek computer plans to launch a 20-inch Nvidia Ion 2 platform-based all-in-one PC (Eee Top ET2010PNT) in the near future, according to sources at PC players. The Eee Top ET2010PNT will adopt Intel's Atom D510 dual-core processor and Nvidia's GeForce G310 graphics chip, which is based on Nvidia's 40nm DirectX 10.1-ready GeForce 210 GPU.
In addition to Asustek, Zotac is also planning to launch an Ion 2-based PC system codenamed MAG HD-ND01, the system will adopt Atom D410 or D510 processor with Nvidia GeForce 210 graphics chip and will launch in March with a price of US$249.
However, Broadcom has recently started supplying Crystal HD technology-featured video decoding chips for the Pine Trail platform to allow PC makers to deliver a 1080p-based video supporting platform. Since the solution offers less cost to PC makers than Nvidia's Ion 2 solution, it may impact sales of Nvidia's Ion 2 platform, the sources pointed out.
