Packaging and testing house Powertech Technology (PTI) reportedly has landed orders for NAND flash memory from Micron Technology and SanDisk, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report. The paper did not cite its sources.
PTI's revenues for the fourth quarter of 2011 are expected to see sequential growth thanks to the new orders, according to the report.
PTI chairman DK Tsai said previously that the company had secured orders for NAND chips from more than one major company, and also seen rising testing orders for chips used in solid-state drives (SSD). PTI guided its fourth-quarter sales would see flat or slight growth sequentially.
PTI shares rose 3.6% to close at NT$78.60 (US$2.61) on the Taiwan Stock Exchange on November 2. |
