NAND flash controller design houses Skymedi and JMicron Technology have both posted sequential sales growth in October, with the latter setting the highest monthly level for 2011.
Skymedi, which recently began trading on Taiwan's over-the-counter (OTC) stock market, announced revenues for October 2011 grew 2.4% sequentially to NT$216 million (US$7.1 million). Its year-to-date sales amounted to NT$2.33 billion.
Market watchers expect Skymedi's revenues for November and December to stay similar to October levels, thanks to stable orders for SD card controller ICs from customers including Samsung.
JMicron saw its revenues climb to NT$179 million in October, up almost 14% on month and setting the highest level for 2011. Accumulated revenues from January through October totaled NT$1.35 billion.
JMicron specializes in controller ICs for solid-state drives (SSD), as well as chips for USB 3.0 storage devices. The company reportedly has grabbed orders for USB 3.0 HDD controllers from Western Digital (WD).
Fellow company Phison Electronics earlier reported October revenues rose 13.4% sequentially to NT$3.13 billion.
