Nanya Technology has filed a complaint against rival Elpida Memory with the International Trade Commission, asking the agency to bar the US imports of Elpida's DRAM chips that infringe its patents, and also products containing Elpida DRAM, the Taiwan-based firm said on November 22.
Nanya requested the ITC commence an investigation pursuant to Section 337 of the US Tariff Act of 1930 against Elpida Memory, Elpida Memory (USA) and Kingston Technology. The complaint cites four of Nanya's US DRAM patents it claims are being infringed.
"Nanya is evaluating its other options, including the filing of a patent infringement lawsuit in US district court. We expect to be compensated for the sale of products that infringe our patents," company spokesperson Pei-Lin Pai said in a statement.
Nanya's statement followed Elpida's announcement last week that the Japan-based firm had filed two complaints in the US and Taiwan against Nanya for patent infringements. |
