Nanya Technology on December 22 dismissed a recent report that claimed the company would be engaged in talks with Elpida Memory on a potential tie-up. Nanya said it was not aware of such talks.
Reuters quoted Japanese business daily The Nikkei as saying Elpida would start talks next month (January 2012) with rival Nanya as a preliminary step towards a potential integration. The pair would discuss proposals including the creation of a holding company under which the two DRAM makers would operate.
