DRAM chipmaker Nanya Technology's net losses for 2011 widened to NT$39.88 billion (US$1.33 billion) from NT$15.13 billion a year ago. Revenues declined 35% on year to NT$36.74 billion in 2011, according to the company.
Product ASPs fell 55% in 2011 while sales were up 53%, Nanya revealed. The company generated operating losses of NT$33.16 billion in 2011, compared to losses of NT$11.79 billion in 2010.
Nanya posted revenues of NT$7.22 billion in the fourth quarter of 2011, down 1% sequentially and 39% from a year earlier. Operating losses for the quarter were NT$9.18 billion, compared to losses of NT$9.85 billion in the third quarter and losses of NT$8.68 billion in fourth-quarter 2010.
Net losses registered for the fourth quarter of 2011 were NT$10.99 billion, showing improvement from losses of NT$11.95 billion in the prior quarter. But fourth-quarter losses were larger than losses of NT$10.15 billion in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Inotera Memories also saw its losses widen in 2011 compared to a year ago. Net losses came to NT$21 billion with revenues slipping about 10% to NT$37.38 billion.
Inotera is a DRAM-manufacturing joint venture between Nanya and Micron Technology.
