Micron Technology president and CEO Mark Durcan is expected to attend Inotera's shareholder's meeting on May 31. Durcan is likely to meet up with executives from Powerchip to discuss share issues at Rexchip. However, Micron and Powerchip both denied the schedule exists.
Micron has been working closely with Taiwan-based DRAM firms.
Micron became Inotera's largest shareholder in the beginning of the year, owning 40% of the firm. Nanya Technology, another major shareholder of Inotera now owns 26%.
If Micron takes Rexchip through the acquisition of Japan-based DRAM firm Elpida, the firm will have access to Rexchip's 12-inch wafer plant which has an annual capacity of 80,000 units. |
